Study programs

The collaboration between Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT) and Polytechnique Montreal has led to the training of more than 150 highly qualified persons since 2001. Many of the research projects have produced results which are now integrated into mining practices in Quebec, Canada and elsewhere around the world.

The Research Institute on Mines and the Environment (RIME) UQAT-Polytechnique now includes more than 100 students at the undergraduate and graduate (Master and Doctorate) levels at UQAT and Polytechnique Montreal. Recognized internationally, the researchers within both universities provide high quality training to the students in a variety of areas such as mine site reclamation, integrated mine wastes management, construction of waste rock piles, prediction of water quality, mine water treatment, and tailings management, for different types of climatic conditions.

One research Institute and two universities

The unique partnership between UQAT and Polytechnique Montreal offers students a unique opportunity to get university training in the different programs available at both locations. Depending on their interest, students can choose the program of their choice. Please contact us for more information.

Each year, RIME UQAT-Polytechnique proposes internships to undergraduate and graduate students. Consult the section on internships to learn more.
